Causes of Aging

We have all asked following age-old questions on occasion:
- What causes us to age?
- Why am I getting wrinkles on my face and can I stop them?
- Why am I so forgetful about where I put my glasses and where I parked my car?
- Why I can’t lose these extra pounds I am gaining?
- I didn’t do anything energetic yesterday, why am I waking up so hard?
- What causes grey hair?
- Why am I experience the loss of libido?

The answers to these frequent questions may lie in how healthy we age. As we age, our body goes through changes, and this process is internal and external. Researches have shown that much to do with the aging process and its visible signs are caused by what is happening inside our bodies.

The interesting thing that women tend to have wrinkles faster than men. It happens because of the various hormonal changes they experience, including puberty, pregnancy and menopause.

Skin wrinkles are caused by decrease in sebum oil production, loss of resilience, and a reduction in the renewal process. You probably know that your age, genetics and lifestyle affect how fast and to what extent skin wrinkles occur.

Change in hair color from black or any other color to grey is another evident sign of aging process. The color of our hair is caused by a pigment known as melanin that produced by hair follicles. When we get older, the follicles produce less melanin.

The process of aging starts in the 30s, although it often varies.

Commonly, graying of the hair is genetically determined. Grey hair is more likely to occur earlier in Caucasians and later in Asian races.

Many people think that they can stop gray hair with vitamins, nutritional supplements, and other products, but as a matter of fact they are dead wrong.

Weight gain is another sign of aging. A man who is 40 is most often fatter than a 20 year old man. Also, a woman of 40 is much bigger than a woman of 20. As you understand when we grow old, we begin to gain more and more weight.

The explanation of this is very simple. You know that metabolism changes with age. As you age, some of your muscle mass is supplanted with fat.

So, in general, there combinations of factors that make us age. All they impact the various body systems involving the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system and immune system. Each of these systems reacts to its own physiological make up.

Therefore the environment that we live in combined with the way we treat these systems will have a real impact on a person’s response to the process of aging.

No matter whom you are, whether poor, rich celebrity, etc., we will all go through this process. All what you have to do is to take the bulls by the horns. You have to be prepared for the aging and take it smart.
